MEET THE OWNERS JASON AND JOALDA ROCKWELL
Jason grew up in Smyrna, Tennessee on five acres with a dad who could make anything with a motor run again. When Jason was 8, he spotted an old truck wasting away in a field and talked his dad into stopping to ask about it. The owner agreed to trade the truck for a small boat motor. That truck lit the fire. Jason looked at his dad and said, “We should open a hot rod shop.” His dad leaned into it, had door magnets made that said REBEL ROAD HOT ROD GARAGE, named after the street they lived on, and a dream was officially on the map.
Years later, life got busy and that dream got buried under responsibilities; until Joalda came along. She was raised around old-school values, and vintage style. After becoming a young mom, she taught herself basic car maintenance just to keep an unreliable car going, and somewhere along the way, classics became her passion too. When the pandemic hit, everything got flipped upside down, so they cleared out their garage, got to work. One day Jason came home expecting overdue bills, Joalda handed him an envelope instead: the LLC registration for Rebel Road Hot Rod Garage. She wasn’t going to let that dream die. Together they built Rebel Road out of late nights, incredible sacrifice, and pure determination.
Today, we’re New Mexico’s largest premier hot rod shop, specializing in pre-1987 vehicles with one goal: Put more classics back on the road where they belong. Allowing others to outlive their Classic Car dreams!
